Rākau Villa: Stunning Mountain Views

Cosy villa, great location but limited parking Positive: The villa was clean and cosy when we checked in and was a convenient 7 km from Queenstown Mall. All the necessary amenities were available as described in the Booking.com listing. We especially liked the clear and easy-to-follow instruction guide, which made everything hassle-free. The portable heater was also very useful during the colder evenings. Overall, it was a comfortable stay for our family of two adults and two kids. Negative: Early check-in was not accommodated. I requested to check in just 40 minutes early, and although the villa was available, I was asked to pay an additional fee, which was disappointing. Parking is a major challenge if you have a car, as the available parking space is very limited and you may need to park quite far from the villa. Access to the waste bins was also inconvenient. We also did not receive any follow-up from the property management during our stay to check if everything was okay. The bedrooms were quite small as well.

Positive: Great location and a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of appliances and cooking facilities. Everything was convenient and easy to use. Negative: It can be difficult to find a parking space.

We really enjoyed our stay in Queenstown & we would encourage the owners to make Rakau villa cosier. Positive: The location was convenient however we were pleased we had a car. The kitchen was a bonus and it was good to have access to a washing machine and dryer. The bed was quite comfortable. Negative: The accomodation was very dark- lack of light and black interiors which may be ok in winter but not in March. We felt cramped even with only 2 of us and there was little privacy as the outdoor area was very exposed to neighbours on all sides. Tea and coffee provisions were very inadequate. We were there for 7 days and ran out of these basics in 2 days. Parking was a real challenge. Even though, theoretically, there was parking out the front of the property, we never secured a park there. No reserved parking meant we were forced to park either a long way from the accom or revert to parking on the grassed areas.

Clean but small and inconvenient Positive: Clean and brand new Negative: Only one toilets and inside the bathroom for 4 people is bad conception. At least have the toilets separately ! Bedrooms are so small, there is no room for your luggage !

Okay Positive: Location Negative: Hard to find car park. Sink is very very small.
